For Your DOT Drug Screen

  1. Preparation: You must bring a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for verification. Do not forget your employer's authorization form if required.

  2. The Process: The test is a urine sample collected under strict chain-of-custody protocols to ensure accuracy and integrity.

  3. Results: The sample is sent out to a certified laboratory. Results are typically reported to your designated employer representative within a few business days.

For Your DOT Physical

  1. Preparation: Bring your current state-issued Driver's License and glasses or contacts if you wear them. If you have any health conditions, please bring relevant medical records or a list of your medications.

-For CPAP users: To maintain compliance, drivers must use a CPAP machine at least four hours per night, 70 percent of the time. Drivers beginning CPAP treatment may be certified if they have been successfully treated for a minimum of one week. Please bring relevant reporting showing proof of CPAP use. This data must be from within 30 days of your visit.

  2. The Exam: The physical includes a review of your health history, vision and hearing tests, blood pressure check, and a physical examination.

  3. Certification: Upon passing the exam, your information will be entered into the FMCSA national database, and you will receive your official Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
