Michelle,MS,BSN,RN,HWNC-BC

Michelle Mortimer is the founder and president of Wellness Works. She leads the company’s strategic growth and partnership development, and oversees its expert and passionate nursing staff.

A seasoned nurse with over twenty years of experience, Michelle spent much of her early career leading award-winning teams in critical care settings.  It was the experience of caring for people after they had become afflicted with preventable diseases that inspired her to create a company dedicated to advancing the health of individuals.

Michelle has Master’s degrees in Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States.

Beyond Michelle’s professional work she is an avid outdoor enthusiast.  When she is not working, you will most likely find her hiking a mountain or spending time doing yoga on her stand up paddle board.

Lisa, Administrative assistant

Lisa became an administrative assistant while working in registration at a local family health medical office. Her strengths are organization and supporting people in doing the best job they can do. Lisa says, “I love the Wellness Works team and working with such intelligent, caring, people. Our roles each play an important part in empowering our clients and their employees to build wellness into their lives.”

Lisa loves to travel and is currently trying to visit every town in Vermont and New Hampshire with her husband. She thinks that there are so many unique things to see and do in our lovely corner of the world, from some of the best hiking to the tastiest farm-to-table foods, and that it is a blast getting out and experiencing the beauty firsthand.

Kaitlin,BS,ADN,RN

Kaitlin had been a nurse for 10 years before joining the team at Wellness Works. With her interest in the biological sciences and passion for helping others, nursing was a perfect fit!

Kaitlin has experience in a variety of healthcare settings, including managing hemodialysis clinics, pre and post procedure nursing in a hospital setting, school nursing at a middle school, and experience in mental health. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kaitlin worked at a prominent Massachusetts hospital, helping out on different floors and gaining experience with a vast array of patient populations.

Kaitlin moved to Vermont from Massachusetts in 2023, and began her career with Wellness Works. “Wellness Works is the perfect opportunity to promote health and wellbeing, and prevent chronic diseases before they even start. I love working as a wellness nurse. It gives me the opportunity to assist and educate the employees I work with to live their healthiest lives possible”.

During her leisure time, you’ll usually find Kaitlin outdoors. She loves hiking with her dog, Finn, canoeing the beautiful lakes and rivers of Vermont, and working in her yard. She also enjoys cooking, and takes pride in the fact that even omnivores enjoy her vegetarian dishes!

Katherine,MA,BA,ADN,RN

Katherine’s venture into healthcare began over 20 years ago as the mother of four children.  Her oldest is a cancer survivor and her youngest has cerebral palsy.

A firefighter/EMT first, she became a Registered Nurse in 2007 and served in both acute care and community settings (Emergency and Urgent Care, Behavioral and College Health) until December 2021.

In 2022, she was fortunate to come to Wellness Works to begin a new career in occupational health.  She finds it incredibly fulfilling to care for patients in the workplace and see them empowered to improve their own health with natural food, functional movement and a better work-life balance

For recreation, she can’t live without books, comfortable shoes and a decent pen.  She admits she needs to get to the beach more.

David,ASN,RN

David decided to get into nursing after being involved for a couple decades in EMS, the fire service and Search and Rescue.  While working as a Patrol Ranger at Monadnock State Park, he realized he probably couldn't carry fifty pounds on his back for the rest of his life, and when he asked himself, "Self, what next?"  nursing seemed like the best path to take.

After spending time in hospital nursing before and during covid, he was ready for something less draining. He discovered Wellness Works and took a chance, knowing nothing about wellness or occupational health nursing. Dave says, “I love interacting with the upbeat people I get to work with, and being able to impact people's lives more positively than I felt I could in the hospital.”

For hobbies, he is of the opinion that any day outdoors is a good day, therefore he likes to ice climb, explore the woods away from the worn trails, bike with his partner, and more.

Laura,ASN,RN

Laura is a registered nurse who has been with Wellness Works since June, 2023. She splits her time between working on the jobsite with employees and working behind the scenes. She is responsible for the organization of biometric screening clinics, content creation for webinars, marketing, and teaching the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR, and AED Training.

Laura began her nursing career in 2018 on a cardiothoracic surgical stepdown unit at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. She left hospital nursing in 2021, but soon found her way back to healthcare as a school nurse.

Her favorite thing about working at Wellness Works is getting to build meaningful relationships with the employees at her sites. She feels she is truly able to make a difference through the simple powers of education and support.

When she’s not at work, Laura loves spending time with her nieces and nephews, riding her motorcycle, or enjoying the outdoors in the many ways New England has to offer.
